The hydrogen production reformer is a key piece of equipment in the steam reforming (SMR) process for hydrogen production, an externally heated tubular reactor and is rightfully considered the “heart” of a hydrogen production plant. The furnace is designed to convert light hydrocarbons such as natural gas, refinery gas and naphtha into hydrogen-rich synthesis gas and is widely used in areas such as oil refining, synthetic ammonia, methanol and fuel cells.
